In 1960 Chuck McAuley left Douglas Oil and formed McAuley Oil Company. Chuck McAuley was a veteran of World War II, serving under Gen. Patton in the III Army in France. Originally from Spokane, Washington, Chuck worked for years at both Chevron and Douglas Oil. At the age of 40 he formed his own wholesale petroleum trading company. McAuley Oil Company remained in operation until 1982. Chuck McAuley was the owner of Los Coyotes Country Club through the family company, McAuley LCX Corporation.
