Gary grew up in an entrepreneurial family as both his Dad and Grandmother owned businesses. Gary learned the petroleum trade at his Father’s company, McAuley Oil Company. A graduate of University of Oregon, Gary joined the Coast Guard Reserves, becoming a Facility Inspector.
Gary formed an oil trading company McAuley Energy Group in 1982. MEG morphed into Sunwest Energy Corp. in 1986, an environmental cleanup firm specializing in petroleum. A large environmental concern purchased that business in 1998.
Now Gary – along with his company Sunwest – is growing as an energy management business, working with Fortune 500 companies as well as government across North America and Canada.
After the sale of these fixed assets, Sunwest found a new life as an Energy Management company, working with a diverse customer base of large and small companies as well as government with their energy needs.
Good for the environment. Good for both the USA and Canada.
Gary is married, with 4 brats.
